Description
There are certain rules for making good cigars. You can break them, but only if you know what you are doing. The makers of the La Flor Dominicana Capitulo II Chisel cigar know what they are doing. This cigar is all about unusual combinations. It is Dominican Republic tobacco, with an Ecuadorian Habano binder, and a Nicaraguan Colorado wrapper, which blends the distinctive flavors of three different regions. It is also a cigar that we found strikingly strong at first, but then levels off to a very comfortable, yet moderately full level. Finally, most uniquely of all, a red pepper flavor was present throughout the smoke. It is blended with notes of cinnamon at first, then roasted chestnuts, and finally dark chocolate. Yet, despite seemingly conflicting tastes, the combination is delicious from start to finish. What we have here is a powerful smoke that throws out the rule book, and in doing so offers a truly excellent experience.
