Description
The master cigar maker AJ Fernandez is back with something that is one part new and one part old. His newest creation is a new take on an old classic. And like every other cigar he has crafted over the years, it is turning heads and making news. This time, AJ Fernandez is teaming up with Tabacalera USA to reimagine the H. Upmann, a cigar that is famous for its medium to robust flavor and rich aroma. Recognizing what fans of this cigar want, Fernandez has kept his changes simple, but powerful. The new H. Upmann is the first of the brand to come out of Nicaragua. Combining an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, a Nicaraguan Corojo 99 binder, and Piloto Cubana and Criollo 98 filler, this cigar maintains the essence of the previous versions, while offering something new and tasty. This H. Upmann offers full flavored notes of cedar, coffee, and hazelnut and just the slightest hint of spice. Like all of its kind, it is a medium strength cigar that approaches robust. It is a moderately simple combination of flavors, but clearly the work of a master. If the taste and smell don't give that away, the smooth draw and slow, even burn are a dead giveaway.
