Similar to Honduran tobacco, Mexican tobacco is often overlooked. Some of the best wrapper varietals are grown in Mexico, in particular the region of San Andres which is valued for its rich volcanic soils. Many full-bodied cigars use a Mexican San Andres wrapper, such as: E.P. Carrillo’s La Historia, La Flor Dominicana’s La Volcada cigar and the Oliva Serie V Melanio Maduro.
