Maria Lucia
Luciano Meirelles, co-founder and CEO of Luciano Cigars, announced its return of the Maria Lucia line. Originally debuting as a Premium Cigar Association (PCA) 2022 exclusive, Luciano says they will now be in regular production with several additional sizes and an increase from 12 to 24 sticks in a box. The line, Maria Lucia, is named in honor of his mother who passed away when he was only 12. The beautiful artwork created by Luciano’s daughter, Deborah, is based on an unknown woman she visioned in her dream and felt compelled to draw after awakening. After showing the drawing to her father he knew immediately that it was his mother. With a backstory so special he insisted on crafting the cigar with a special blend of premium tobacco.
The blend for the rerelease is the same as the 2022 PCA Exclusive. Containing a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, bound by an Ecuadorian Sumatra and HBN 92 binder, filled with a combination of Nicaraguan, Dominican, and Peruvian tobaccos; all constructed at the Luciano Cigar facility in Estelí, Nicaragua. Rated at a medium to full body profile, Luciano states that it is “unashamedly bold.” The Maria Lucia provides creamy notes of cocoa, earth, cedar, and hints of red pepper giving it an incredible and unique flavor.
“It’s been overwhelming to see how much this cigar has started to mean to people, I’m just grateful for the opportunity to honor my mother, to let her legacy grow and her story be known through this cigar.” - Luciano Meirelles
