Army of Angel's
Army of Angel's is a small batch collaboration cigar created by Angel Benitez (General Manager of Corona Cigar Company), Jeff Borysiewicz, Florida Sun Grown and Paul Palmer of Casa Fernandez (Aganorsa) cigars. Angel is a true cigar fanatic. He has been enjoying cigars since he was a young man working in law enforcement in New Jersey. When Angel moved to Florida, he began working at Corona Cigar because of his passion for cigars and the cigar lifestyle. Over the past 18 years, Angel has not only become the GM for the entire company, he has become a true connoisseur of cigars and cigar tobacco.
Army of Angel's is a small batch collaboration cigar created by Angel Benitez (General Manager of Corona Cigar Company), Jeff Borysiewicz, Florida Sun Grown and Paul Palmer of Casa Fernandez cigars. So, we handed over the reins to Angel to blend a cigar just for him, working with his favorite tobaccos and flavor profiles. The result is a limited production (and pretty powerful) Nicaraguan cigar handcrafted in the Casa Fernandez factory. Angel loves Maduro wrappers, so a dark and oily San Andres wrapper surrounds a long filler blend of Florida Sun Grown Corojo ‘99 tobacco and AGANORSA Corojo and Criollo Nicaraguan tobaccos. The cigar has a rich, spicy flavor with a long peppery and oaky finish.
In 2018, we released the Army of Angel's Toro featuring a San Andres wrapper, Aganorsa binder with FSG & Aganorsa Nicaraguan tobacco in the filler. Fast forward to 2023, we unveil the new Army of Angel’s Connecticut! It features a Connecticut Ecuador Amarillo claro wrapper, an Corojo ‘99 Jalapa binder, and a blend of Corojo ‘99 Esteli, Florida (FSG), & Criollo ‘98 Esteli fillers. Angel Benitez has been the General Manager of Corona Cigar for over 20 years and he is proud to have two cigars bearing his namesake. Presented in a blue box with bronze trim and a band to match, the Army of Angel’s Connecticut also features a blue felt band on the foot, a first in our portfolio at Corona Cigar. The Army of Angel's Connecticut has a burst of pepper on the first puff with a little spiciness on the retrohale and first third. Nuances of maple, oak, cream and citrus coat the palate throughout the remainder of the cigar. The Army of Angel’s Connecticut is a medium-bodied cigar, opposite to its predecessor which was full-bodied. Enjoy the new Army of Angel's Connecticut, brought to you by Corona Cigar and Aganorsa!
