CAO Amazon Basin

The 2025 release of CAO Amazon Basin, from General Cigar Co., offers cigar aficionados a chance to experience this limited-edition blend made with a unique five-country mix. The standout tobacco in this blend is Bragança, a rare Amazonian leaf sourced from Brazil's lush Amazon rainforest. Grown with extraordinary care, the Bragança tobacco is planted with a wider spacing between each seedling, resulting in smaller yields compared to typical crops. After being harvested, the leaves are tightly rolled into carottes, which undergo a six-month fermentation process. These dense tobacco logs are then transported by canoe down the Amazon River to the STG Estelí factory in Nicaragua, where the CAO cigars are crafted.

This year’s Amazon Basin release is identical in size and blend to last year’s edition, featuring a 6" x 52 ring gauge format. The high-priming Ecuador Sumatra wrapper is complemented by a Nicaraguan binder and a blend of filler tobaccos from Colombia, the Dominican Republic, and, of course, the distinctive Brazilian Bragança.
